As part of The Westfield Historical Society’s First Wednesday Luncheon series for March, Hannah Gaston at the Liberty Hall Museum will talk on the subject of "The Legends of Liberty Hall” on March 3, 2021 at 12:00 noon. Guests will enjoy their own lunch, in place, while watching/hearing Hannah Gaston’s live presentation. There will be Q&A and opportunities to share with others. Instructions and the link to the event will be sent to all paid registered guests. For anyone who may not be familiar with Zoom meetings, the Society is happy to set up a tutorial session on how to participate in a Zoom presentation with the Westfield Historical Society. A house as old as Liberty Hall has 250 years of stories to tell, and some of its most famous stories have become legends. Participate in interactive storytelling and learn the stories of the ghost of Hannah Caldwell, the love affair of Alexander Hamilton, the British army’s visits to Liberty Hall and more! Participants will learn the elements of truth behind these stories and discover how they grew into the legends they are today.
Hannah Gaston is the Coordinator of School Programs at Liberty Hall Museum. She began at Liberty Hall in October of 2017 as an intern, was the inaugural recipient of the May Kean Raynold's Graduate Museum Studies Fellowship in 2018, and was offered her current position in 2019. Historic house museums hold a special place in her heart. She has presented on the topic of relevant and compelling storytelling in historic house museums at the Small Museum Association conference, and has recently published her graduate thesis on the same topic. She holds a B.A. in History from Elmira College and a M.A. in Museum Professions with a focus in Museum Education from Seton Hall University. In her free time she enjoys sewing, singing in her church choir, and acting in local community theater productions, and she looks forward to being able to continue those hobbies soon.

The Westfield Historical Society celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2018. Since 1968, the 501(c)(3) non-profit Westfield Historical Society has worked to preserve, interpret and encourage interest in history, Westfield, and its residents through educational efforts and community outreach programs.
