Westfield Historical Society’s March First Wednesday Luncheon: "Celebrating  Women, Before, During, After...the American Revolution" with Joel Farkas

For the Westfield Historical Society’s First Wednesday Luncheon series in March, guests are welcome to the luncheon at Echo Lake Country club on Wednesday March 6th, 2024 at 11:45am. Joel Farkas, will present a program on "Celebrating  Women, Before, During, After...the American Revolution" in honor of March is Women’s History Month.

          An expert on our founding fathers and mothers, Joel Farkas will weave the tale of Revolutionary War-era women from Matriarchal to Patriarchal. He’ll discuss WHEN WOMEN “RULED”, WOMEN WHO “RULED” and highlight TWENTY FIVE WOMEN who “broke the mold” and “proved men wrong”!

          Mr. Farkas has lectured extensively on the American Revolution, including insights on George Washington, the Founding Fathers, the war in New Jersey, the lesser-known heroes of the Revolution, and the role and impact of women during the war. He is a Lecturer at the Lifelong Learning Institute at Fairleigh Dickinson University and a volunteer docent at Washington’s headquarters in Morristown, NJ. He received the National Park Service Centennial Volunteer Challenge Award. A collector of original historical autographs, Mr. Farkas is a graduate of Ohio State University and served as an officer in the United States Army.

Please advise if there are special dietary needs. The luncheon fee of $40 (WHS members) or $45 (non-members) includes a three-course meal, coffee/tea, and gratuity. Payments should be received by Friday prior to the luncheon.
